Giving back
Wheaton World Wide Moving understands the importance of being a
good corporate citizen. Giving back to the community and to
specific causes is embedded in Wheaton's corporate culture. Here
are a few organizations with which Wheaton has taken a leading
role:
Move For Hunger - A not-for-profit initiative
founded by Wheaton's Neptune, N.J.-based agent, Lowy's Moving
Service, Move For Hunger aligns interstate agents for Wheaton World
Wide Moving and its customers with local food banks associated with
Feeding America. During the relocation process, Wheaton agents
offer to pick up customers' unwanted nonperishable items a
nd deliver them directly to the local food bank.
It's a win-win for all parties - food banks get a much needed boost
all year long, customers feel good about the donation (and may even
offset some of the cost of their move by reducing the weight of
heavier canned goods), and Wheaton is able to participate in a
nationwide initiative to combat hunger. Visit MoveForHunger.org to find out more about
them.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tissue Bank at the IU Simon
Cancer Center - The Tissue Bank collects blood and tissue
sample from donors and makes the samples available to researchers
across the globe who are seeking to find a cure for breast cancer.
Wheaton embarked on a relationship with the Tissue Bank in 2008 by
transporting and setting up the blood sample collection
equipment in Dallas, Texas. Since
that time, Wheaton has transported equipment for the Tissue Bank to
collections across the country. Visit KomenTissueBank.IU.edu to learn more about the
