Kelly awarded Wheaton’s J B Cupp Award

Indianapolis, Ind. |

Announced recently at Wheaton’s 57th Annual Partnership Conference, Art Kelly was posthumously named Wheaton’s J B Cupp Award winner – the company’s top safety award. Kelly passed away unexpectedly in September 2011. His wife, Patricia, and daughter, Rhonda Latiker, accepted the award on his behalf.

Since 2003, Wheaton has issued the J B Cupp Award in honor of J B Cupp, Wheaton’s former safety director and a man who dedicated nearly four decades to Wheaton and the safety of its drivers.

Kelly previously earned Driver of the Month on nine separate occasions and was awarded Driver of the Year in 1991, 1998 and 2009.

“Drivers are the backbone of our industry and our company,” said Wheaton World Wide Moving CEO Mark Kirschner. “Art Kelly was a perfect example of why Wheaton’s drivers have such a great reputation in our industry – he was safe, knowledgeable, professional, personable and incredibly good at his job. It was Wheaton’s honor to call him one of our own.”
