What is a Moving In/Out Box?

June 26, 2012 | Packing Guides & Tips

We understand that moving is a stressful time, which is why your local Wheaton agent can assist you with a plan to have the essentials available as soon as our moving truck arrives.

Here is one tip we like to recommend that is sure to relieve some stress: Pack a special box that will be the last you pack and the first you unpack. We call it your moving in/out box.

Load it last. Unpack it first.

The last items your driver loads onto the truck will be the first you see at your destination. The moving in/out box should contain items that you will need up until the last minute on the day you vacate your home and items to help you settle into your new home once you arrive. These may include:

  • Towels
  • Toiletries
  • Tissues/paper towels
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Non-aerosol cleaning supplies
  • Plastic cups, plates and utensils

A little preparation before your relocation can save you significant time and money after.
