Housing Market Prices Hit a New Low

The time to buy is now as housing market prices have hit a new low. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that homes have become more affordable than they have been in years, with prices falling back to 2002 levels nationally and to 1990s levels in some regions. Moody’s Analytics predicts that prices will begin to rise in 2013.

The WSJ also reported:

  • More buyers may be persuaded back into the market if prices stabilize
  • It is becoming more affordable to own than to rent in several markets
  • In upcoming years, the rate of “household formation” is predicted to rise
  • The nation’s job growth determines the strength of the housing recovery
