How Much Does it Cost to Move?

August 16, 2012 | Moving Guides & Tips

How much does it cost to move? That’s a question we hear often, and know that we have no secrets. Having helpful details about how your moving cost is determined and what options you have for payment will make you feel more comfortable.

The cost of interstate moving with Wheaton is determined by the weight of your shipment and the distance it must be relocated, plus any additional services such as packingappliance service or special handling needs.

The price is based on the WVL-100 Commercial Relocation Tariff. The WVL-100 tariff provides the schedule of rates and charges from which Wheaton computes the total cost of moving for services performed, although discounts off the tariff are often offered and are determined by various criteria of your move. For example, large moves will likely receive a larger discount than smaller moves. And moves scheduled during peak periods (usually the end of each month and the summer months) will not be as highly discounted as those which occur during the off-season. Your local Wheaton moving and storage agent can provide you with accurate moving estimates based on these criteria.

You can pay for your move at the time of delivery with cash, money order, traveler’s check, certified check or cashier’s check. Or, with prior credit approval, you can charge the cost of your move to your personal credit card. Wheaton gladly accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express.
