Welcome, Sandhills Moving & Storage!

January 4, 2024 | Wheaton News & Events

Sandhills Moving & Storage Co. recently joined Wheaton World Wide Moving’s agency network as an interstate agent. Previously an agent for Mayflower, the North Carolina moving and storage company joins more than 350 Wheaton agents across the country.

“Everyone here at Wheaton has a vested interest in customer satisfaction since we are an ESOP company,” said A.J. Schneider, President of Wheaton World Wide Moving. “Jason and the whole Sandhills Moving & Storage Co. team recognized that strength, and we’re happy to add them to our network as a strong interstate agent in North Carolina.”

The founding family members of Sandhills Moving & Storage Co. moved to Pinehurst, N.C. from New Jersey in 1994, looking to semi retire after owning an engineering company for several years. The entrepreneurial spirit ran deep, however, and they ended up purchasing a moving company. After a few years and a lot of sweat and tears, the family settled into the new industry, and the company has since transitioned to the second generation, with Jason Birdsall the current owner and president.

The people at the Southern Pines moving service are the main reason for its success.

“Employees play a huge role in the success of a moving company, and we have been extremely fortunate to have our key office staff and CDL drivers work for Sandhills for on average of 8 years,” Birdsall said. “This has built a strong foundation, and we could not be successful without them.”

The team at Sandhills Moving & Storage Co. participates in their community through the local Project Santa. A few days before Christmas, the team loads trucks and trailers with more than 1,000 bicycles, delivering them to local children on Christmas Day. The Sandhills team has been involved for more than 5 years.
